📌 Journey under the shadow of the Towers of Astraka!
There is something magical about exploring new places, and this trip is no exception. Starting from Ioannina (Academia) to the slopes of Tymfi, we prepare for icy rivers and imposing “Towers”! First stop of our journey, the River Voidomatis. After crossing the bridge of Aristi, we stop at the crystal clear, deep blue waters – which during the summer months, are a magnet for thousands of daring swimmers – of the famous river!
We continue our excursion to the “Kolimpithres” or ovires. These are essentially natural swimming pools made of limestone rocks created by the waters of the Rogovou stream. After that, we arrive at our destination, the large Papigo or more simply Papigko. One of the most famous Zagorochoria in Greece. The village of Papigo is located on the outskirts of the Towers of Astraka. A highly impressive sight for any traveller! Our last stop is another village of Zagori, Aristi!
At each of the destinations – stops we will make, there will be free time.
In the afternoon we return to the city of Ioannina, with beautiful experiences, in a good mood and with wonderful photos!
