📌 Two new destinations combined with the classic touristic powers of Zagori!

We depart from Ioannina (Academia) for a journey through lush green forests in the heart of Zagori! We move north, where the majority of the picturesque villages dominate! Our goal is one of the most northern of these villages! But before that, we will come across the “Monument of the Zagorian Women of Pindos“, which is dedicated to the courage and self-denial of the women of Zagori, who contributed to the resistance of the Italian invasion in the autumn of 1940. We continue on our way, with the next stop being the most impressive stone bridge of Zagorochoria! The bridge of Kokkoris. A place where stone meets water and nature creates a unique canvas of beauty.

But the road to the north does not stop! We arrive at Iliochori with the famous in all of Greece, Balta di Striga Waterfall! The waterfalls are not in the village but we will follow a mini hiking trail – 30 minutes – to them (the trail is optional and although it is considered easy, it is possible that some travelers may not wish to follow it – there is no additional cost). And because the need for food is slowly starting to knock on the door of our trip, we choose a place full of history and flavor! We head to the much-photographed Sarakatsaniki Stani! We enjoy our meal, our coffee or just our walk in a lush area of fir and pine trees in the heart of Pindos! But there is also a sweet dessert! How more beautifully can the first trip of April be completed than a Greek coffee and a sweet dessert under the shade of the over-aged trees in Tsepelovo square?

📷 After a day full of exploration and new experiences, we start our return to Ioannina, full of beautiful pictures, good mood and great photos!
